My approach
At the heart of therapeutic work is the development of awareness — the ability to see our patterns, emotions, and experiences more clearly, particularly during times when we feel stuck, overwhelmed or something feels “off.”
Having the grounded presence of someone outside your usual world can help you understand what is happening and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
As an integrative therapist, I am trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. This allows me to work holistically and tailor my way of working to fit your specific needs, recognising that each person’s experiences and challenges are unique.
The approaches I draw on are:
- Psychodynamic and relational — how past experiences shape present patterns
- Humanistic and existential — authenticity, meaning, emotional depth
- Cognitive and neuroscientific — the interaction of thoughts, behaviour, and the nervous system
- Embodied and experiential — including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS)
My work is trauma-informed and somatically grounded, recognising the deep connection between mind and body and the ways emotional experiences are held physically as well as psychologically.
This means we don’t just focus on thoughts — we listen to the whole of your experience: your emotions, your body, and your nervous system.
Emotions form a core part of who we are, and developing a deeper understanding of them can significantly deepen self-awareness and improve quality of life.

While I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, my work tends to focus on the here-and-now — paying attention not only to your past and what happens between sessions, but also to what emerges within the therapeutic space and in our relationship during sessions. Your past will come up so that we can uncover motives and feelings outside of your awareness, but I don’t believe that focusing exclusively on childhood experiences is always the most effective way to move forward — nor do we always have clear memories to work with. Instead, I take a creative and practical approach that allows you to understand more experientially what drives you and restricts you, and to identify more useful ways of being.
